The Fukushima Waraji Matsuri is the premier summer festival in Fukushima City. The festival has it’s roots in the 400-year-old Mt. Shinobu Dawn Procession (or ‘Shinobu Sanzan Akatsuki-mari‘) that is held every year on February 10. 2019 marks the 50th anniversary of this lively summer event.
